Really showed the degradation of the forest through the progression of time. The lack of speech made the film, and by extension the issue, universal. Didn"t have an explicit message, but rather allowed the viewer to draw their own conclusions from the juxtaposition of images, eg:/newspapers thrown on ground /green dying. Presumably the goal was to make us question our values and priorities. A large part of our own decisions on giving moral standing seem based in how much we personally relate to an entity. As rational as we may try to be, there"s no such thing as a purely objective decision. Bias seems inherent in human nature (and is somewhat present in the film) Stop further deforestation, increase efficiency of space usage (sustainable plantations are more efficient) Look at the production chain- reduce waste at various steps from plantation to consumer.
