World environmental problem = condition of the global biophysical environment that negatively affects humans. May be caused by humans or be entirely natural. Examples : anthropogenic (=due to human activity) climate change, deforestation, pollution (ex : acid rain, biodiversity loss, fish stock depletion, habitat degradation, ozone depletion. Before : environmental problems are not new : ex of human induced environmental collapse : Involve change in a limited number of environmental conditions ( water availability, soil erosion, trees ) Because technology limitation = limit extent of impact. Now: small scale ep still occur but the scope of human settlement and technology allows us to have global - scale impacts.
