To what extent does this vision promote a stereotyped idea of la: tv shows portray very stereotypical or pop stars, like sofia vergara or shakira. It merges all of the countries of la into one, as a global stereotype and does not differentiate between the different country"s identities. From the outside, la is conceived as not only a geographic unit, but racial, cultural, linguistic and economic unit. Languages: brazil speaks portugeuse, and the indigenous languages for example in the amazon, in peru we have quetchua, in guatemala we have quitche and so on. By and large, spanish is not the first language of a lot of the population. In mexico, there is no official language written in the constitution, to reflect this diversity. This one mexican actor, garcia, plays in multiple movies different latinamerican characters from different countries, like a one person plays all, exemplifying this homogenous image.
