Document Summary

In the case of sorya, she"s a victim of fate. Sorya constantly tried to get out of her situations and makes choices to aid her situation, yet nothing changes her fate. Sorya still ends up being stoned to death and her husband ultimately gets what he wants, which is her out of the way. Sorya"s aunt also tries to change sorya"s fate, by pleading with the elders, trying to find her a source of income, all so that sorya can divorce her husband instead of being stoned to death. Sadly no matter what these women do and the choices they make the fate of sorya stays the same, she dies. Her religion was also a part of her fate and where she lived. Her religion and the rules of her country dictate that she has to obey men. Therefore she has no way of changing her fate without the aid of a male and they refused to help her.
