Rarely fought in battle: most prestigious, well paid better than legion. 16 years of service instead of 20 years for the diploma. There is an absence of a police force (imperial police force). Roman army has to provide escort to governments, centurion might be only one who can read, write (remote areas) Cologne(a city) which is an example of: fortress city.
