Severus reaches rome first and assassinates julianus: he is proclaimed emperor by the senate, he partnered with clodius albinus in order to assist him to defeat. Niger: when niger is defeated in 194 ce, severus turns against albinus, albinus dies and is defeated. Tension with the parthians increases resulting in an outbreak of war: he held successful campaigns against the parthians and even seized their capital, he campaigned other areas. In 211 ce, in northern britannia, he died from an illness. Senator/historian cassius dio stated that his last words were exactly: be harmonious, enrich the soldiers, and scorn all other men. Severus"s emperorship made him seem like a soldier emperor . He paid money to the army just not to be assassinated. Initially he ruled with geta who was his younger brother. In 211 ce, he gets geta murdered and reigns on his own. He was assassinated in 217 ce by praetorian guard.
