Amalgamated assoc. of steelworkers lockout , strike breakers. In the end, many workers return w/out improvements, in fact no longer allowed to unionize. Confines nas to reserves, makes them register for meager benefits/land rights (allotment syst) End goal was to assimilate nas into new econ syst. Us govt intentionally eradicated buffalo--na food source. Farmers often dnt produce as much as expected. Referred to southern way of enacting laws. Officials racially/class wise totally diff from defendants. Enticement--illegal to hire workers away from other landowner. Sundown cotton laws--sharecroppers can only sell to landowner. Vagrancy laws--blacks can b arrested if they dnt hav proof of job.
