Napoleon takes spanish monarch captive, puts his brother on spanish crown. 1808/1810 upper class spaniards rebel for og span king back. Venezuelan bolivar leads colombian/ven army marching on peru. Other army coming from paraguay also marches on peru. War lasts for 15 yrs, 3x as long as us rev. Immense econ devastation--to silver mines, cattle herds, slaves freed. Monarch gone, no more figure holding empire 2gether.
