Hope of building a future based in peace, stability and transparency. Intended for peace to be a liberal progressive appeal to people in the waring states. He thought that bolshevism was going to spread instead. A call for a new era of open diplomacy, free trade, arms destruction/reduction, end of colonialism. Body set up to adjudicate international issues - this is the league of nations. Fourteen points had lots of propaganda and became the basis for the armistice in 1918. By the end of 1918, four empires had collapsed (russian empire, Led to independent successor states across eastern europe and transformed the middle east. Development of national consciousness was strong in central and eastern europe. Many groups pushing in opposite directions to find solutions to the nationality"s problem. Czechoslovakia there were three groups of players - nationalists in exile and two groups. One group set up the czech national council in paris in 1916.
