Ways of explaining social reality that didn"t reduce groups to their religion, market conditions, had some sway in the economy because of the international balance of power. After the soviet union collapsed, the usa dominated world politics and foreign policy which as a result gets rejlected in journalism and scholarship, which we can see in huntington, who belongs to that phase in modern world history.
