Aleppo province and deyr al zur, beirut wilaya. Wilaya could be bigger than sanjak but they"re pretty much the same. Sanjak of sayden (sayda) between haifa and beirut and it was a major wilaya in 19th century ottoman syria/lebanon. Mount lebanon was important and had a great inkluence. The pasha of damascus had a big inkluence on mount lebanon and on wilaya beirut. The governor of sayda was also a large inkluence and people were competing as to who will rule mount lebanon. Entities kept moving but people still lived in these territories, so the naming and context has signikicance. Syria was divided into territories and the rulers of damascus and the rulers of sayda has inkluence on the mountain. Mount lebanon was ruled tribally by a confederation with the christians and the. Most of the time these two were allied and agreed on any ruler that would rule the mountain.
