Muar392 hard rock heavy metal progressive rock lecture notes. Audience rooted in white working and lower middle class youth. One of the most successful new british groups of the 1970s: eight umber one albums in the uk and six in the us. Devotees of the album format, resistant to releasing singles. Most songs co-written by jimmy page (guitar) and robert plant (lyrics) Used a blend of electric and acoustic instrumentation, but best remembered for their style rooted in the blues, but freely combined with other influence heavier music.
