Acne is very common (most people have had it to some extent at some point in their life) Dermatitis situations, atopic eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis. Skin is the largest organ, different depending on the location. Major challenges for dermatologists, diseases are common. Varies with people age, background, exposition, geography (sunlight, infectious agents ) Frequency varies with age, tumors more common as people get older (accumulation of damage), acne tends to peak in adolescence . Barrier, keeps everything outside so that we don"t absorb everything we are in contact with and also keeps stuff inside (water ) Barrier function can be disrupted by various irritants or allergens, sunshine, heat and cold, chemicals, infections and trauma or friction. Internal factors : infections, drugs, internal diseases, genetic factors and psychological factors can vary the intensity of various skin disorders. Epidermis (stratum corneum, stratum granulosum, stratum spinosum, stratum basale), dermis and subcutaneous adipose tissue.
