Document Summary

Today we"ll focus on some neurophysiology and general concepts. Two slide to finish up regarding cns circulation. Regulate what comes out of the blood into the extracellular fluid of the brain. Extracellular fluid of the brain is highly regulated. In the cns there is a tight junction that forms between the endothelial cells. This prevents things from getting out of the capillaries into the extracellular fluid. We do not perceive the energy of a sensory stimulus directly. The brain only perceives the neural activity that is produced by sensory stimulation. No matter how you activate a sensory receptor, the perception related to that receptor will always be the same. Ex, rub your eyes had and you"ll see light even in a dark room. No matter where you activate the pathway of a specific sensation receptor, the perception will always be at the same place.
