Ex-articulation of hip (basically cut off leg at hip) phantom, stump, burning/sticking/crushing pain. Go round the hospital circuit still has mech allodynia, no one could cure it. He was put on opioids got addicted, developed psychological disorders (depression, suicide thoughts) Treatment right now for nep is inadequate. Experimental translation to clinical practices is the weak link. Idiopathic pain = no clear source of pain. So it"s not taken seriously, written off as a psychological disorder, not enough research is being done here.
