Document Summary

Quantum mechanics tells us that elementaru particles behave not only as particles but as waves. Sometimes an electron behaved as a wave and sometimes it baheved as a particle. Picture is showing defraction pattern which is a pattern of light which comes out of th experiment. Produced by lasers; green, oange, and red pattern. The pattern we will explain is the pattern of fringing. There are locations of bright light and between them are locations where it is light. There is one region of high intensity then it is flanked by darkness. Waves: mathematical represweation where we have a propogation of energy through a medium (except in the case of light) where we have regions where the wave peaks (crests) and regions of minimization (troughs). The height of the crest is the amplitude and the distance between two peaks is the wavelength. You have two waves and the crests and troughs can contructively or destructively interfere with each other.
