PHYS 183 Lecture 14: Lecture 14
Document Summary
Lecture 14: february 6th, 2013 fainter objects can be seen with bigger telescopes. Want a small number for angular resolution small angular resolution = see small details. Dish would need to be 4200 km to see in radio what you can see as 10 m optical: but can mimic large telescope through telescope arrays multiple telescopes. Biggest telescope array is the size of the earth. Atmospheric turbulence doesn"t affect number of photons, just the detail. Need high & dry for observations mauna kea (hawaii)
