Hutus and tutsis are part of sub-saharan africa: but iraq vs iran conflict amongst islamic countries. More violence within civilizations than between them. Friction where the plates meet are not the problem. Seems like religion does separate the groups. People have an affinity towards those who share the same values as them. What religion is latin america catholic: what separates civilizations, is it just religion, why privilege religion, spain and portugal and italy catholic. Sam huntington may be racist: nearly all politics is local, who speaks for a civilization. People in office have boundaries therefore the people run for certain countries. Leaders responsible to domestic audiences: they care more about whats going on inside the country instead of outside the country, less about spanish catholicism, black christianity, islam and more the domestic audiences. If they spend too much time on foreign policy they will lose elections: losing elections = losing power.
