Shaking off or waking up from israeli relations: 1987 = 20 years after 67 war, post-lebanon; changing of the status quo. The war in general and sabila and shatilla changed everything completely. Israeli rethink the david and golliath analogy: lebanese thought that israel began to play the bigger role. International community: raises questions about how the conflict is playing out. Is the dynamic the way we think: response to iron fist policy. After war in lebanon when israel still had a presence in the south. Idf was uncomfortable with this: 20 years of occupation; new generation. New kids who are now older and aware of the situation. Not going to sit and normalize like their parents did. Knew that if they didn"t do anything the situation would not get better. In jordan they were still linked to the people. Plo seems more and more distant in the territories.
