Conferences serve to consolidate the material seen in class as well as to discuss in more depth the course readings: requirements. Conferences account for 10% of your final course grade. Attendance and participation are mandatory and crucial for your success in the course. The breakdown of the 10% grade is as follows: 5% for attendance. If you miss one conference, we will take out 0. 5% from your final grade unless your absence is justified with written documentation. We do not take attendance for the first conference of the semester: 5% for participation. Participation will be graded depending on the quality and quantity of your interventions during conferences. Once during the semester, you will have to write a short discussion memo (one page maximum, single-spaced) on a course reading and present it to your classmates.
