Thursday, september 5, 2013: why do we study courts, behaviour of the courts is central to the behaviour of government. Courts can constrain politicians in the other two branches of government. Important allies of the other branches of government. Implement the goals of the other two branches: courts are always directly or indirectly involved in politics, courts are the institutions in society that provide the rule of law. Rule of law has become the epitome of a desirable legal arrangement. Rule of law doesn"t exist in a lot of places political elites want to have the rule of law but there are serious deficiencies in a lot of countries with the rule of law. Equal responsibility and protection under the law: equal for all members of society. Governments should also be constrained by the rule of law limited by prospective, publicly promulgated and universal.
