Poli 425 31st jan (trump"s muslim ban - poor policy decision; ppl w/ limited experience running the show, and they did so poorly. Poor execution reveals a lack of competence in the admin, failure to anticipate reaction and provide measures to deal w/ these; not encouraging. Woefully inadequate consultation w/ the agencies, and these are the ppl that have to carry out the policiesinadequate instruction to the frontline ppl (ex. customs and border ppl at airports) even after the executive order was signed). Also cabinet secretaries aren"t even yet in place, and the roll-out shouldn"t have happened before their nomination. It appears that the 2 ppl behind this were steve bannon and steve miller. Attorney general yesterday announced that she was not prepared to defend this action in court. Was a political decision on her part (was brought in by obama admin. and stayed on a temp. basis until trump"s appointee would enter.
