The state of gender and inequality is that you had significant improvements in the situation of gender but there are still problems. Gender gap for widespread opportunities to gather ressources, opportunities for advancements, control of resources and political power, has shrinked. Economic development is seen as capable of improving the condition of women because it provides more opportunities and less squeeze for their ressources. To improve the condition of women, at the same time research shows that it is not sufficient for deliberating enough results. Towards the end of this lecture we go into explanations women of the developing world face and how it might be placed in the discussion, explanations for honour killings. Economic development matters but it is not sufficient to end the inequality problem. 1. education: the enrollment rates of girls has doubled in many regions of the world. It has risen faster than the boys enrollment rates.
