In qc, there"s a lot more specify in your allegations. In on, it"s much wider because you still need information. In qc, we call this a judicial settlement conference; it"s not mandatory (you need the consent of all the parties), but the court"s pushing this more. In on, if mediation is successful and you agree to a settlement, you essentially just agree on who"s notifying the court and notify them. If there"s a clear case, this is fantastic, but it costs a lot you still need supporting materials and even factums! In qc, you can make the argument that if you have a bad case, your case is abusive, and should be thrown out; some judges will take this, some judges won"t.
