Document Summary

Learning promoted by long term potentiation (ltp: changes how neurons interact. Subdivisions of the nervous system: central vs. peripheral, central, brain. Forebrain (cerebrum) brain stem cerebellum: spinal cord. Forebrain: grey and white matter, grey matter, groups of nerve cell bodies, groups of nerve cell bodies, white matter, group of nerve cell axons, has myelin in it (fat) which is white. Two hemispheres: right and left, corpus callosum - connects the two, very important fibre bundle. If u cut it, it dissociates the two sides of brain and their connection: one hemisphere is verbal but doesn"t communicate with other side anymore. Frontal lobe: temporal lobe, memory, sound, occipital lobe, sight, parietal lobe, central sulcus. Includes, cerebral cortex, frontal lobe, thalamus, hippocampus, amygdala, hypothalamus. Find a good way to stimulate the brain and create the nervous go woke. Motor and sensory cortex: homunculus - finer control of out fingers, we can knit, right, very good with somatic sensation in our back.
