(scientific) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) Basic idea: if you are materialism (most scientist), mind + brain + identity theory . for every brain state, there is a unique mental state. It has to work according to davison, for materialism to hold. psychology needs to have invariant laws in order to be a science. No laws to link mental to physical status. Psychophysics doesn"t work that well because different ppl perceive things differently and the same individual see things differently during his life.
