Any physical or verbal behaviour that is intended to harm another person or persons. Behaviour that is intended to harm another in the service of other motives. Violent crimes are more likely to occur during the hot summer season than during the other seasons. Don"t see the same pattern for nonviolent crimes. Stalled a car at a green light on busy saturday afternoons. The higher the temperature-humidity discomfort index, the more time people spent honking. Heat -> increased physiological arousal -> anger and aggression. Participants assigned to one of two physiological arousal conditions: Participant could blast opponent with a loud noise. Biking -> increased physiological arousal -> more intense noise blasts. Imitation of specific violent acts depicted in the media. Males participated in a study on "stress and performance" Viewed a neutral or an aggressive erotic film. Participants then had a chance to aggress back. Opportunity to provide feedback to the confederate via shocks.
