Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 What is a Group? For example, social psychologists would not define our class as being a group. What is a Collective? Distinguished from a group. Example: out class. Groupthink The first thing that leads to it is the illusion of invincibility. This is linked to the illusion of the inherent morality of the group. As the number of people in a group increases, sometimes the depth of cognitive processing seems to decrease. In cohesive groups, there is an emphasis on agreeing. This influences what they are discussing. (2) The more directive leadership you have, the less likely people will be voicing opinions against said leadership.
