Were distinguished by him through the course of the dysfunction and not the cause started earlier and had progressive deterioration whereas bp could come out of the blue without signs of progressive deterioration. We have evidence that bp and schizo have common genes and may exist on a continuum of dysfunction. Dementia praecox was introduced as schizo through eugen bleuler.
