As we become more educated we feel more guilty about watching tv, but it doesn"t necessarily mean that we"ll watch less. The average american watches 5 hours a day of television on our devises (not tv sets though) People are actually watching more television than ever. They just aren"t watching it on television sets - they are watching it on laptops. As we move into our teenage years, we start watching less tv - 2/3 hours (college years) But as adults we start watching more and more tv. By age 55 we are watching 6+ hours. Mihaly csikszentmihalyi and the idea of flow experiences. A sense of effortless action felt in moments that stand out as the best in our lives.
