Disembedding of institutions: symbolic tokes standardize exchange, money (brackets time and space, expert systems standardize knowledge, trust in expertise (e. g. medicine, chronic revision in the light of new information or knowledge (giddens 1991:20) Separation of time and space: commodification and markets disembed goods from space, online marketplaces (e. g. amazon) minimize importance of space. Disembedding of institutions: fiat money, standardization and regulation, health codes, safety standards.
