It is possible therefore, to say that he has no theory of politics: but he had one or two extra ideas. Opening line is very important: marx is saying that politics is not autonomous: remove class conflict, remove the exploitation of one class by another and the state in modern circumstances will wither away. This is the line you have to hold on to. There are some subtleties in the manifesto, 18th brumaire. He is not entirely clear he offers us two different images and never really reconciles them (1) objective view that there are the laws of capitalism. Objective factors e. g. , reser(cid:448)e ar(cid:373)(cid:455) of the u(cid:374)e(cid:373)plo(cid:455)ed, properizatio(cid:374) o(cid:271)je(cid:272)ti(cid:448)e circumstances like this somehow leading to a revolution. In conflict with a slightly different, subjective view that marx has particularly in the communist manifesto (2) more subjective view revolution has to do with insurrection (a violent uprising against an authority or government)
