The difference is that, applied anthropologists tend to work outside academia. They use anthropology to solve everyday problems usually on behalf of different organizations: examples are corporate anthropologists. Companies that hire: apple, google, and other tech companies. To determine the tech features they will promote or abandon: another type of applied anthropology: medical anthropology. They look at the relationship between health, illness and culture. They will be hired hospitals, organizations like un, world. How promote health and safety in a certain demographic to meet health needs of particular populations: for example, some anthropologists work up north in nunavut, north west territories. Because of their negative experiences with colonialism and white doctor, many intuits still have a lot of suspicion and distrust of medical doctors.
