Travesti"s change themselves to be more desirable (their butts) Symbols: objects and behaviours with conventional meanings ex. The travesti"s use symbols of femininity, form of dress. World views: human beings try to make interpretations of events & experiences and link them meaningfully to the wider world; establish symbolic framework. Cultural logic: the shared assumptions that people use to understand & interpret mean- ingful actions. Cultural meaning are expressed in and through our relations with others. Marriage transforms the status of the participants and often carried implications about sexual access, gives offspring a position in society and establishes connections between the kin of a husband and the kin of a wife. Objectified relations (often into roles): wife, sister, teacher, student, friend, poor. They are established and maintained by practices, often policing practices. How are romantic relationships initiated, established, maintained and dissolved in present day.
