Focus is on anthropological theories and methods to solve everyday problems. Focus is on present day societies/ ethnography and ethnographic studies. Topics such as globalization, gender, sexuality, transnational labour migration, urbanization, communication technology, etc. Didn"t t into cities or social structures. Didn"t like the laws or social beliefs. Mostly the people who did menial tasks who ended up making themselves isolated. Habitus: routine activities rooted in habitual behaviours that are learned. There is some debate around the use of culture as patterned, symbolically mediated ideas versus cultures as learned ways of life of a speci c group. I. e. routine of coming into lecture and sitting down, etc. , versus no school and coming in without this knowledge. I. e. school, home, background, age, likes/dislikes, hobbies, subculture of athletes, arts, music, etc. Determinism: biological reduction of complex events to single forces. Dualism: view that sees reality as consisting of two different but equal parts. Idealism: gives primacy to the mind that produces ideas.
