Document Summary

September 9th , 10th & 12th 2018 p. 27-42. Anthropologists aim to learn as many different human ways of life possible. Archaeologists reconstruct ancient ways of life from traces left behind hundreds or thousands of years ago. Anthropologists who strive to reconstruct the origin of human species also make use of fossil remains that reach back millions of years into the past. Anthropology can be defined as the collective study of human nature, human society, human language, and the human past. It is a discipline contingent upon the exploration of what it means to be human. Anthropology is considered to be different in respect to four characteristics of anthropological perspective: Anthropology is the holistic study of human nature, human society, human language, and human past. To generalize about human nature, human society, human language and the human past requires evidence from a wide range of human societies.
