People rely on wild animals for protein because it is cheap and widely available and transmission from fruit bats comes from lack of access to proper protein (i. e. chicken) Attack the immune system and disables the immune response which allows the virus to replicate rapidly in the body. Weakened the blood vessels which creates inflammation in the body. Symptoms come in different cycles (appear 2-21 days after exposure) Difficult to diagnose early symptoms because it is similar to flu like symptoms or even malaria in places like west africa. Ebola is transmitted through contact with body fluids of infected, symptomatic people. No approved vaccine/ medicine is available for ebola. Our best bet is to treat the symptoms (especially dehydration) patients given electrolytes.
