Looked at as a slippery term looks at religion differently; problematic. Can be a boxed off category for some people. A western concept like work/ economy/ politics/ technology: in western society, religion is mostly seen as a clearly delineated aspect of society, separate from the other terms above. Religion and spirituality infuses all parts of lives. Cross-culturally some cultures do not separate and government: ex. Governed by pharaohs who were kings (divined beings and po(cid:449)e(cid:396)), did(cid:374)"t (cid:395)uestio(cid:374) the(cid:373) Religion infused all together (religion, politics etc) Hierarchy (pope, priest, cardinal) & highly organized. All have elements of rituals (prayer, drumming, chanting, rite of passage) Means of influencing universe beyond their control.
