Competition of economic resources- oil, acquisition of oil, gold, water. Nationalism: pride/patriotism in nation- sense of communitas, oneness, belonging. How people imagine themselves as connected in particular units. Occupying a specific territory or space - borders. United as a political entity - share the same values.
