Movement, without our skeleton, our tendons, ligaments and muscles would not work, based on insertion etc. Axial and appendicular skeleton axial- skull, mandible, hyoid, vertebrae, ribs, sternum, sacrum forms the main midline axis of body. appendicular- shoulder, girdle, pelvic girdle, bones of arms and legs. In infants, the bones of cranium still forming so they are not going to be connected yet.
