By a british artist who works with casting, she is known to cast very unexpected results. She was trying to think of a way to comment on how her low area income neighborhood was being restructured. She cast an abandoned house, went into the house; ceiled the interior of the house; sprayed it with a spray on cement; poured concrete inside; pealed away the actual house. You cannot call this architecture because it shares no functions that architecture has, perhaps it is architecture turned sculpture. Pure sculpture is increasingly rare in contemporary art. The difference between carving and modeling is that carving is negative and modeling adds to it. The slave is awakening and emerging from the stone. Keep in mind that modelling and carving are still very related in cultural practice. Usually you model a clay statue and then with a technique called parallel transferring you recreate it.
