In some ciliates (like paramecium) uaa and uag are not stop codons, they code for glutamine. Cua codes for thr in yeast mitochondria, but codes for leu in mammalian mitochondria. Plastids and mitochondria have their own dna which code for proteins. Genetic code is redundant but not ambiguous. Retinoblastoma: disruption of rb protein (fails to serve as a cell cycle break) leads to cancer on retinas, where tumours grow on the retina. It is important that these liposomes are targeted because a fetus is developing rapidly all around and only the cancer cells want to be targeted.
