Document Summary

During translaion: trna enables the translaion of info in the mrna to a polypepide. This is because trna molecules are able to transfer amino acids from the cytoplasm to a growing polypepide in a ribosome. Each trna can translate a speciic mrna codon into a speciic amino acid. trna is made up of a single rna strand of 70-90 nucleoides. It has many stretches of h bonding between complementary nucleoide bases, which forms 4 double-helical segments and 3 loops. Figure a shows this as a clover- leaf . It can also fold in itself as in igure b. Anicodon region of trna: speciic nucleoide triplet that forms complementary base-pairs with a speciic mrna codon that codes for a speciic amino acid. At the 3" end of trna where is a protruding amino acid atachment site that contains cca sequence. A is where an amino acid can atach during trna molecule acivaion.
