Odysseus tries to strike a deal to treat guests nicely because zeus is the god of protecting gods. He eats so(cid:373)e (cid:272)re(cid:449) (cid:373)e(cid:373)(cid:271)ers, does(cid:374)"t (cid:272)are a(cid:271)out zeus. Odysseus happens to have wine with him, received it before leaving troy. Offers this drink to polyphemus, he likes it, keeps wanting more. Polyphemus says his reward for the wine is that he will eat him last.
