Nausicaa as artemis: marking her as off-limits, creates safety in dangerous situation. He won her over with this views of marriage. So since he won her over she is willing to help him out and take him through her fathers castles. Odysseus among the phaiacians: king alcinous, odysseus identity revealed. The wanderings of odysseus: troubles with hospitality, thinking himself out of (and into) trouble, flashback narrative technique, opposition of culture and nature. Books 8 he reveals his identity which leads books 9 to 12 talking about his great tale of the troy war and how he survived, what he seen and has lost in that great war. Culture and nature is pulled up where ever he went. The cicones: stripped of heroic grandeur, defeat because of over-reaching. The lotus-eaters: problematic hospitality: detaining their guests, those who eat that flower, forget everything and never want to go home again.
