If they want to sail, they have to sacrifice iphigenia. She expected that lie, it allows one to reinterpret the story in any way: child being sacrificed. Might want to think back to zeus, demeter, and persephone. Zeus allowed his child to be taken without telling the mother. Clytemnestra thinks achilles is the future husband of her daughter, achilles believes in doing things properly. He fou(cid:374)ds out this (cid:449)o(cid:373)a(cid:374) is i(cid:374) all the soldie(cid:396)s a(cid:374)d she"s the ki(cid:374)g"s (cid:449)ife a(cid:374)d thi(cid:374)ks (cid:271)ei(cid:374)g with her is improper. Agamemnon: both children have no desire to get along with their mother and see things from her perspective, electra likes to make stuff up. She initially just wants to make her dad happy.
