Commodification of communication and information -- a key factor in economic growth (+) and a barrier between haves" and have-nots" (-) . Alignment with (or ownership by) political parties. Journalists -- unbiased reporting (social reforms -- need to cover them fairly) Publishers want profitability free from state restrictions.
