Communication defined: a continuous, irreversible, trans-active process involving communications who occupy different but overlapping environments and are simultaneously senders and receivers of messages, many of which are distorted by physical and psychological noise. A more simple definition: communication is the process of human beings responding to the symbolic behaviour of other persons, if we don"t trust the process or human beings there wont be a proper dialogue. Characteristics of human communication: body language, tone, language, emotion, listen/ feedback non-verbal and verbal, using the same language. More concisely: communication is human, communication is a process, communication is symbolic. Types of communication: intrapersonal communication, involves communicating with oneself, dyadic/ interpersonal communication, includes two people interacting, small group communication, occurs in a group whose size allows each member to participate actively with the other members, public communication.
