Perspectives on the political economy of communication in the digital age: net neutrality, all the information on the internet must be treated equally, it could allow big companies to buy their way into their markets, while the start up companies would be left behind, avoid easy judgements, political activism (cid:224) looks like a fight for freedom/liberty but there is a strong corporate component, you charge money for faster or equal access to already available websites, some definitions of critical political economy, validity claims of political economists, holistic, historical, moral in a sense. Concerned with the constitution of a good society: rally to action, karl marx, in the 19th c. political economy starts to be concerned with productivity, welfare of workers and others, capitalism should be abolished, labour and the working class, cultural industries are significant in their societies, what differentiates economy from political economy, political economy is more holistic.
