The case of yahoo: yahoo was trying to communicate that they weren"t subject to any laws (cid:224) jewish dude that was fighting against neo nazism takes yahoo to court, this was because people were selling nazi products through yahoo, and this guy didn"t like it; claiming that it was braking the law of france since it is illegal to sell these kinds of products there, court in france argued that it was impossible for them to stop these websites from getting through to them, this showed the weaknesses of the nation state (cid:224) they were unable to stop the internet, france claimed that being a sovereign state, they should be able to stop/control what was happening within their borders, what power do governments have to control the internet, the internet started as a technology that resisted territorial law (cid:224) but in other ways it also reinforced it.
